Helmut Staubmann is Professor for Social Theory and Cultural Sociology and Chair of the Department of Sociology at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He has edited and translated (with A. Scott) Georg Simmel’s book on Rembrandt (Routledge 2006). Currently, he is editing a volume on The Rolling Stones – Sociological Perspectives (Lexington Books). Together with Victor M. Lidz he is editor of the book series Studies in the Theory of Action. His research at Harvard University is on the intellectual exchange between Talcott Parsons and the Austrian economist Joseph A. Schumpeter.
