2nd annual Yale Symposium on Chinese Overseas Investment and its Environmental and Social Impacts
Since 2005 China has invested nearly $900 billion overseas. These financial flows have far-reaching implications, including legal, political, economic and environmental concerns.
The 2nd Yale Symposium on Chinese Overseas Investment and its Environmental and Social Impacts explores the relationship between China's overseas investment and the impacts - both negative and positive - on natural resources, particularly in the forestry, minerals, water, and energy sectors. By convening key actors working in this area we aim to facilitate knowledge sharing that can steer Chinese overseas investment toward stronger environmental and social governance.
