MIT Energy Conference

The 2016 MIT Energy Conference will bring together thought leaders from industry, government, scientific community, and academia for exciting dialogues and insightful discussions about Energy issues facing the world today.

Our Conference theme this time is “Big Meets Small: A New Era Emerges”.  It focuses on the evolving energy landscape and its challenges, opportunities and prospects for innovation across the entire value chain.

Our panels will address the changing patterns in demand and supply, current dynamics of the players and how they are adapting, emergence of new technologies, globalization, environment and climate change.  We will also focus on the fact that new markets structures are shifting the dynamics of power amongst large and small energy players, and that investment and financing models are adjusting for both ends of the project financing scale. Keynote speakers include:

  • Colleen Calhoun, Senior Executive Director at GE Energy Ventures;
  • Yumkella Kandeh, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Sustainable Energy for All;
  • Aldo Flores-Quiroga, Secretary General, International Energy Forum (IEF);
  • Jason Bordoff, Director of Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University.
