Pre-Screening & Discussion: Deepwater Horizon

HLS Dean Martha Minow, the Environmental Law Program, and Lionsgate Films invite you to a pre- release screening of the major motion picture Deepwater Horizon on Wednesday, September 28th. The film, starring Mark Walhberg and Kate Hudson, depicts the response to BP's offshore drilling rig that exploded in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010, killing 11 people and creating the worst oil spill in U.S. history.

Immediately following the screening there will be a discussion by Professor Richard Lazarus, Executive Director of President Obama’s Commission on the Deepwater Horizon Gulf Oil Spill; John Cruden, Assistant Attorney General of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division; and Sam Sankar, Deputy Chief Counsel of the President’s Oil Spill Commission.

Please note, a Harvard ID is required for admission. Harvard ID holders may be accompanied by one guest. Seats will be available on a first come, first served basis. There will also be anti-piracy security present. Please turn off cell phones and all other electronic devices during the film.
