"Claude Monet and Climate: Then and Now" with Dr. Sarah Schorr."

Please join Harvard for a discussion and reception on Thursday, February 15 from 3-4:30pm with Dr. Sarah Schorr.  Work from Schorr’s project 'Ephemeral Field Journal: Metaphors of Impermanence in Claude Monet's Garden' is currently installed on the 4th Floor of Hoffman Labs. Since 2020, Schorr has photographed, painted, and collected fallen flowers from inside Monet’s garden. She will discuss Monet’s original design in the context of today’s changing climate conditions through the lens of her visual art. Her project is supported by the Versailles Foundation's Munn Art Fellowship, a Terra Foundation for American Art Fellowship, and the Danish Art Foundation.

Additional remarks on Monet and changes in the atmospheric environment will be provided by Anna Lea Albright, a Fellow at the Harvard University Center for the Environment.
