**Alexandre Strapasson**, Research Fellow with the Environment and Natural Resources Program, will present "Biofuels and Negative Emissions Technologies."

If the world is to prevent a major increase in the global mean surface temperature, it will be necessary not only to reduce carbon emissions, but also to remove carbon from the atmosphere. Photosynthesis is a natural mechanism to obtain such reductions. However, is it possible to store carbon while also using biomass energy?

Dr. Strapasson will explore how bioenergy and land use can provide negative emissions, including new technologies and trends, as well as the main opportunities and risks associated with them.
