Our diets clearly affect our health—and they may also determine the future of our planet. Bruce Friedrich, Founder and President, Good Food Institute; Chris Golden, Assistant Professor of Nutrition and Planetary Health, HSPH; Lilian Cheung, Lecturer and Director of Health Promotion & Communication, HSPH; and Namukolo Covic, Director General’s Representative to Ethiopia, The International Livestock Research Institute; CGIAR Regional Director for East and Southern Africa, will examine the connections between personal and planetary health, with a particular emphasis on how our dietary choices can influence climate change, antibiotic resistance, and food security. Our expert panelists will explore concepts including mindful eating, cultivated meat, and “blue” diets rooted in the ocean. We’ll also talk about sustainable agricultural practices. By looking at where and how our food is sourced, we’ll be able to evaluate both the health and the environmental impact of our meals.
